Pastor Rich


Pastor Rich and Jody Counts have three children (2 boys and 1 girl) and five grandchildren (3 boys and 2 girls).  They moved to the De Beque area from Grand Junction in October 2004. In November 2010 they lost their youngest child and only daughter, Rachel, in a tragic automobile accident.  They are now raising her son, Kevin, born July 2, 2008.

Pastor is originally from San Francisco and Jody is a military brat.  Married more than twenty years, Jody is gifted in exhortation and Pastor is a gifted teacher who proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ coupled with contemporary applications.  Pastor has been teaching Biblical principles for more than two decades on the Western Slope and feels a burden for the Grand Valley. 

Perfectly suited for one another, they also feel perfectly suited for GVCC and look forward to partnering with God as He grows a dynamic ministry within His body and empowers His church to live abundant, overcoming lifestyles while being a blessing to the Grand Valley community.

 Worship Leader Don Wilkerson

Don has been involved in worship teams and leading worship all over the Western Slope.  He is an accomplished guitarist who uses contemporary Christian worship songs to lead the congregation into the presence of God.

For more than two decades Don has led countless Christians into a depth of worship that touches the heart and lifts the spirit.  Using acoustic guitar, Don's selection of songs beautifully complement the message delivered each week.

The rich history of the historic Grand Valley Christian Church is furthered and enhanced by Don's contriutions to weekly services.  He is a genuine blessing with an undeniable gift.  His worship service has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.

Don coordinates weekly services, also employing the piano accompanied worship of Greg Green and the hymns-based worship of gutiarists Tom and Caleb Dresser.

Worship is an important part of each service at GVCC.  Turning our focus to His glory and honoring Him in song and praise prepares our hearts to receive His Living Word.

Sunday School Minister Tom Dresser

 

 

Tom has a servant's heart for Children's Ministry.  Experienced in curriculum development and support supervision, Tom easily and quickly develops rapport with children of all ages. 

You can rest assured that your kids (His Kids) are in good hands with Tom who will assist them in growing in the Word of God and experienceing the nurturing love of Jesus.
